Puppy Chow Recipe
Christmas treats have begun in our house with our very first Christmas treat, the puppy chow. People call this all kinds of things but I have called it Puppy Chow since I was a little girl. It is one of my favorites and I could easily snack on way to much. It also happens to be SUPER kid-friendly to create. So, it is a good recipe to use to have your littles in the kitchen with you. If you want some tips on how to have kids in the kitchen check out my post here.
12oz bag of chocolate chips
1 Cup of Peanut Butter
A Stick of Butter
Box of Chex Cereal
3 Cups of powdered sugar
Paper bag (Like a shopping paper bag)
First, empty the Chex box into the paper bag.

Next, in a pot pour the butter and begin melting. Then add the chocolate chips.
3. When the chips melt a little add in the cup of peanut butter.
4. Then when it is fully melted add a teaspoon of vanilla.
5. Next, pour the melted goodness onto the Chex in the bag and shake. (You may also want to use a spoon after shaking just to make sure it is fully mixed.)
Pour in 3 Cups of powdered Sugar. Like before, shake or mix with a spoon.
Once the sugar is on everything. Place in a bowl and enjoy! This sweet treat stores for about 1 week if sealed well.
There you go! I told you it was simple! Kids love to shake the bags and pour the Chex into them. Plus, they really enjoy being able to share with others that they made it. Put this little treat into a baggie and it makes a great small gift for teachers and neighbors! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
