DIY Egg Carton Snowman
With all the snow we have been getting this year, I decided to take a small break from the Valentine’s activities and give you another snowman craft! This egg carton snowman is of course- easy and also very customizable. Meaning you can use a variety of items that you have on hand. My girls loved all the painting and enjoyed playing with him. However, I did the assembly, because I used a hot glue gun so that is would stay together. We started this little project on our first snow day, so it seemed right to finish it on the last one that we had.
White and Black Paint
Egg Carton (Four egg spots)
1 pipe cleaner (this is for the arms, you could use a normal stick too)
1 triangle cut out of an orange piece of paper
buttons or sequins
First cut out 3 spots in a row out of the egg carton, then paint it white.
Next, with the remaining 1 egg place, paint it black.
After they dry, take the white 3 piece part and use a hole punch to punch holes on the (middle spot) sides.
Next string through the pipe cleaner or sticks through the holes.
Then with the hot glue, glue on the triangle nose (on top spot).
Next, glue on the googly eyes.
Then glue on the buttons or sequins and the ribbon, so that your snowman looks like this.
Finally, it is time to glue on the hat. (The black egg spot) Using the hot glue, glue the edge of the carton and place on top of the snowman head.
You should then be finished! (You could always just cut four spots in a straight line and paint the top one black, however, I feel as though the turning of the hat makes it fun! It is completely up to you how you decide to do it though.)
In our house we really love to do crafts! I love being able to do crafts with items that are found in my home before they hit the trash! We have made so many items in the past, stay tuned to see what we create from your every day items! Happy Crafting!
